Hi,

sine upgrading to Linux 2.6.24 on my sid box the battery applet only
updates when I pull/add the power cable into the laptop. This means when
you start up and never change the status you get no pdates at all. Most
bad when you start up on battery and you never get a real battery status
until your laptop shuts off...

Maybe related to #462305?
