If Vino allowed to set a password longer than 8 chars, the following situation
could happen:
You set a 12 chars password in Vino. Then you try to connect to it using a
client which truncates the password to the first 8 chars following the protocol.
So you won't be able to connect to it.
If Vino prevents you from setting such a long password it also prevents from
this situation to happen.
Feel free to reopen the bug if you think that's not reasonable.
