First, you should get an account on alioth if you don’t already have one
(see http://alioth.debian.org/) and ask Loïc to add you to the GNOME
team.

Then, you can look at the existing packaging for the stable version, in
desktop/unstable/ekiga, and see if you have any improvements to add to
it from your snapshots’ packaging.

After which, you can branch it to desktop/experimental/ekiga and start
packaging your snapshots here. You will need a couple of changes, like a
custom get-orig-source target (to generate the tarball directly from the
upstream svn repository) and including check-dist.mk (to prevent uploads
of snapshots to unstable). After which all should be fine.

there should be someone to help around most of the time.
