Bug#468963: balsa shows folders twice, as duplicates

Balsa shows subfolders twice, if they are at least on the 2nd sub-level.
This both occurs for maildir- and mh-format.
Deleting cache- or config-files in in ~/.balsa does not help.

small example:
- use the following maildir-structure:
  myfolder
    subfolder1
      subfolder2
- balsa shows:
  myfolder
    subfolder1
      subfolder2
      subfolder2

A rescan on 'subfolder1' temporarily corrects this. But after a complete
rescan, a rescan on 'myfolder' or a balsa-restart, the folders are again
displayed twice.

I also tested the latest release 2.3.22, with the same results.
