Bug#469076: gdebi is not the default handler for debian binary packages

Package: libgnomevfs2-common
Version: 1:2.20.1-1
Severity: important

I recently installed lenny from scratch (on an Asus eeepc). I noticed
that, although gdebi was installed by default, it was not the default
handler for debian binary package files. Instead, file-roller was
chosen, which left the user of the system nonplussed when he wanted to
install skype by double-clicking on the downloaded .deb file.

Bug filed against gnome-vfs because it contains
/etc/gnome-vfs-2.0/defaults.list which seems to determine the default
file handlers for various types of files.
