I think that this is a problem with the driver for your video card. At
least that's a guess from reading a description of a bug leading to a
similar crash and error message:

Evince doesn't handle large pdf files or zooming very well, instead of
just showing part of the document, it scales up everything, leading to a
very large pixmap. It's possible your video driver can't handle this.
