You should be able to launch Evolution by double clicking on a date in
the clock applet. In 2.22 you can also launch the task section of
Evolution by clicking on the "Edit" button. 

Unfortunately both of those steps requires further clicks to get the
details. This upstream bug is about being able to edit (and presumably
view) details directly from the clock:
