 I installed gajim, and it worked fine; I'm using python-gobject
 2.14.1-6, python2.5 2.5.2-5, and python-gtk2 2.12.1-3; whare your
 versions?

 Could you try moving your gajim profile away temporarily, and seeing
 whether it starts?
