Bug#481480: Reproducible here; recommend severity grave

This is reproducible on my system with python-gtk2 2.12.1-3.  System
information and package versions from reportbug are included below.

I recommend upgrading this bug to severity grave.  Rationale: makes
many programs unusable when run from the command line.  For instance,
all of the following programs that use python-gtk2 hang on startup
when run from an xterm unless their stdin is specifically redirected
from /dev/null:

  driconf
  gajim
  gnome-about
  glchess
