This could be the following change:

- Improve pango_language_get_sample_string() to add language sample texts that
  are actually usable.  Compiled from a variety of sources.
  See pango-language-sample-table.h.

My guess is that it is used to compute the typical width of the text
area.

If so, this is more a feature than a bug, but this doesn’t cope well
with websites which don’t change the size of their input-text fields
depending on the language, while you actually need less characters in
e.g. Japanese than in English.

I’ll discuss this with upstream.
