Bug#492863: I just had this problem

I tried to retrieve the updates from within update-manager but it said my system was up to date (after downloading 25 or so files, maybe they were diff files).  After about an hour I tried again and it finally showed the two packages which were eligible for upgrade.

I think it may have something to do with the various update timestamps.
