I’m afraid I can’t reproduce this. Could you please send us the output
of the following commands?
gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd
xprop -root | grep XKB
In all cases, this is probably a bug in the X server, not in a GNOME
application.
