Installing my rebuilt package straight-away after doing another fresh
Debian installation gave me entirely different results; I did /not/
receive the scrollkeeper errors at any point. 

FWIW, this is being done within an AMD64 VM. The two live systems that I
experienced the scrollkeeper errors on are also AMD64 installations.

Is there anything else that might be helpful for me to try?
