All games have similar dependencies, except for python (which is already
widely used by other GNOME packages), guile (which is not that big) and
GGZ.

Of course it is technically feasible, but it would add even more clutter
to the packages file by adding no less than 30 packages, for a
questionable gain.

None of these are in the dependencies of gnome-games, only the client
libraries are. You might want to analyze the chain of Recommends to find
what pulls them, I can assure you that it is not gnome-games directly
and that splitting it would have no effect on that issue:
for example, cups is brought by libgnomeprint which is brought by
python-gnome2-desktop. However I’m pretty sure that nautilus-cd-burner,
samba and avahi are not brought by Recommends.
