Bug#541787: gnome-applets: Trash applet doesn't show deleted items, always appears empty.

Package: gnome-applets
Version: 2.26.3-1
Severity: normal
After a file is deleted, it does show up in ~/.local/usr/share/Trash/files/, but the Trash desktop and panel applets still look empty. The option "Empty trash" is greyed out in the desktop applet but it is still accessible (although inactive) in the panel applet. To get rid of the deleted files permanently, I have to delete the content of .../Trash/files/ and .../Trash/info/ in Nautilus with the option "Don't use the trash bin" (translated back from French).
This also happens after logging in as a newly-created user.
The problem started about a week ago and wasn't solved by today's update of gnome-applets.
