Hello,

My name's Scott, with ltsp.org. We've got a fair amount of interest for
management tools within the LTSP community, and for Gnome desktops, sabayon's
it. As you know, it's been... languishing for a while, and not that stable.
Federico at Novell's been maintaining it upstream, but he's up to his *ss in
other alligators. So, I've been sticking my nose in, and fixing some bugs, as
we'd like to get it working in Edubuntu.

I'm willing to wager it'll be desired in debian-edu, and debian in general as
well.

So, I'd like to reach out, and see if anyone debian-side would like to keep an
eye on, or even kick into, a revitialized sabayon. I've got some (almost)
working packages at:

https://launchpad.net/~sbalneav/+archive/ppa

based on the (just released) 2.27.91 version of sabayon.

On Ubuntu, here's what I've got working:

Launching the edit window works
editing profiles (pretty much) works
Applying needs to be tested (just found a bug a few minutes ago).

My packages have the patches fixed in cdbs format. If anyone's interested,
gimme a yell. sbalneav at ltsp.org

Cheers!
Scott
