Bug#538418: ekiga: Starts, but just hangs with no window popping up

Okay, what happens (over my ssh -CX session) is that:

1. I wipe out that configuration directory.
2. I start Ekiga.
3. The expected window comes up.
4. I configure Ekiga.
5. I try calling it from another machine and it receives calls just
   fine. (In the enclosed, I rejected the call.)
6. I quit Ekiga (via the Chat menu).
7. I start Ekiga.
8. No window at all comes up.

8 happens even if I wait for quite some time and make very sure that no
Ekiga process lingers from before.

Various perhaps-relevant details are attached.
