AFAIK I am.  The end of ls /etc/rc2.d/ is:
S07gdm
S08bootlogs
S09rc.local
S09rmnologin
S09stop-bootlogd

No, I'm not using something else.

I think I quoted part of a non-automatic login, but one where I mistyped
my password.  Here's more from auth.log:
