I'm not sure about that. Almost all files present in my ~/.metacity/sessions/
are empty. More precisely, they contain only:

<metacity_session id="11xxxxxxxxx">
</metacity_session>

So what's the point of creating empty files?
And I didn't enabled session auto-saving neither.
