Bug#510694: nautilus: "Open with" menu fails with error "Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)"

When I want to open a file with an application not registered for the mime type,
choosing an application from the "open with" window fails with the following
error message:
Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)

I still can type in an application in the text entry at the bottom of the "open with"
window.

I have reset my configuration and even tried to create a brand new user for testing,
but the probem is still there.

Googling for this error lead to no interesting results, except another bug reported
on Parsix BTS: http://bugs.parsix.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=153
