Bug#511285: gdm: cannot change clock to 24 hours display

It is just that.  I cannot change the display of the clock to 24 hours
on the login manager page.  What I do is the following:

 click on 'Actions'
 choose 'Configure the login manager' and click 'OK'
 type in root password and hit <Return>, the 'General' configuration page pops up
 at the 'Use 24 Hour Clock' I choose 'yes' (it was 'auto')
 click on 'Close'

The clock remains in the 12 hours mode, even if I restart the gdm with
Ctr-Alt-Bsp.

The Theme I have is the default one 'Debian MoreBlue Orbit', the style
is as it was 'Themed with face browser'.
