This is a known problem, and has been fixed upstream.  The fix will be 
available in the next gnome release (in two months).

Have you manually changed the ekiga gconf settings, especially the 
'version' setting?  Also, while waiting for the fix to be uploaded, is 
it possible to you to remove ekiga gconf settings (apps/ekiga and 
schemas/ekiga)?
