Hello maintainer,

To reproduce it:
1)	$ export LANG=C
2)	$ dasher (or $ LANG=C dasher)
3)  dasher display several red lines on screen 
4)  click to start dasher letter scrolling
5)  --> dasher crash with SIGSEGV
