RFS for nautilussvn

Hi everyone,

(I apologise if you frown on this use of the GNOME maintainers' list,
but I was under the impression from d-m and the New Maintainer FAQ that
it's a good idea to solicit sponsors from the appropriate area of Debian
in addition to the d-m list.)

Last week I filed an RFS on the debian-mentors list for "NautilusSVN," a
Nautilus extension for integrated SVN (and eventually git, bazaar and
others). The RFS is repeated below, and is also at:

http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2009/05/msg00725.html

I think it'd be a very useful package for Debian and I'm confident of
the job I've done in packaging (of course feedback to the contrary is
welcome!). There hasn't been any response on d-m, so I thought I'd try
here to see if anyone was interested. If not, I'll continue to work on
it with the authors and try again on d-m in a few weeks.

One thing: I realise that the signatures do not match (between the
package and this email). I'm waiting for one the devs to sign my public
key before re-uploading -- that'll happen very soon.

Regards,
Jason Heeris

---- Original RFS ----

Hello all,

I am looking for a sponsor for my package "nautilussvn".

* Package name    : nautilussvn
  Version         : 0.12.beta1.2-1
  Upstream Author : Bruce van der Kooij <brucevdkooij at gmail.com>
(There are several, but Bruce is the best point of contact.)
* URL             : http://code.google.com/p/nautilussvn/
* License         : GPL-2+
  Section         : devel
  Language        : python

(It uses CDBS for building.)

It builds these binary packages:
nautilussvn - Integrated Subversion support for Nautilus

The package appears to be lintian clean.

The upload would fix these bugs: 469181 (ITP)

The package can be found on mentors.debian.net:
- URL: http://mentors.debian.net/debian/pool/main/n/nautilussvn
- Source repository: deb-src http://mentors.debian.net/debian unstable
main contrib non-free
- dget

Description: Integrated Subversion support for Nautilus
  An extension to Nautilus to allow better integration with the
  Subversion source control system. NautilusSVN adds Subversion
  related commands to the Nautilus context menu, and
  subversion-controlled directories will be detected automatically and
  decorated with appropriate emblems. It is similar to the TortoiseSVN
  project on Windows.

I believe that this package would benefit Debian as there are, to my
knowledge, no integrated SVN interfaces for the GNOME desktop
environment in Debian. I have been using this package myself for months
(at home and work), and have found it immensely useful. The upstream
development has grown considerably since inception and remains active.
The authors are passionate about the quality of the software and
prioritise improvement of current performance and features over growth
of features.
