Ihad the same problem while loggin from console and starting X using
srartx. I enabled gdm in my startlevel and after logging removable media
auto-mounted well and appear in "Computer" and "Places" in sidepane. But
I nevertheless miss my mounted partitions in "Places". When gdm is of
and starting startx auto-mount doesn't work!
