Bug#518740: notificaton messages are split across monitors, unreadable

Sometimes the gnome-panel or its applet show notifications in
the right upper corner of the screen. I'm running two screens,
the panel is on the left, main screen, while the second, right
screen is used for applications and presentations, so I have no
panel on it. Some notifications (today something about the
battery, I hope it wasn't important!) appear so far on the right
side of the left screen that they are split across the two
screens and therefore unreadable.

IMHO, all important notifications and error messages should show
up on the primary screen only, not on the second screen, or
worse, split between the two. Unimportant notifications should
go to syslog or /dev/null.
