plans for gnome 2.26

Hi,

GNOME 2.26 status at
http://www.0d.be/debian/debian-gnome-2.26-status.html is mostly red.
What is the plan for getting 2.26 debian quickly? I would like to chip
in and help, but I don't have much experience with packaging, so it
would take a while for me to get upto speed.
