The difference is that if gnome-power-manager is not restarted, the worst that
can happen is that you don't notice that you're running out of battery (which is
bad), but if vino doesn't restart, you may loose the ability to connect to a
remote machine (I hope people don't rely on VNC for remote servers, but who
knows...)

Ok, that's a good point. Pity that we can't easily have both.
