As of 04/05/2009, everything is working fine but I had to install the
freedesktop sound them (from GIT, see the ITP 486559 [1])


In the meantime, I had switched to pulseaudio, with which I am now
having issues (totally different but still, this made be give esound a
new try), hence I cannot say what exactly fixed the issue.

As freedesktop-sound-theme is not yet in the archive, I guess this bug
should remain open if you think this was the reason of my issues (with
gnome-audio, it doesn't work).
