Bug#530254: ekiga: Succesfully connected at sip-server side, but hang-up or status "failed" at my (client) side

Package: ekiga
Version: 2.0.12-1+nmu1
Severity: important
When working with the main russian sip-provider 'sipnet.ru', Lenny's
Ekiga client shows that the registration process is failed.
If timeout is set to default 3600, Ekiga writes at the status line
(translating from russian) "Registration failed: Forbidden", if
I increase default value, it writes "Registration failed: Timeout".
Both messages appear almost instantly after the try to connect.
Or, sometimes, instead of both these messages, Ekiga hangs up for
a very long time, not showing any registration status and even not
exiting - then only killing helps. An admin of sipnet.ru said me that
some times he see the successfull registration of my account and even
said my version of Ekiga to prove it. May be, those successful
registrations take place when my client hangs up.
I was successfully using Etch's Ekiga for few months with the same
sipnet.ru, the same account and the same options. I have rebooted to Etch
today and - here we go - registrated succesfully and instantly again. So,
in Lenny's version it's really broken the possibility to work with the
main russian sip-provider. Very, very pity. I tried to backport Etch's
version from Lenny sources, but with no success - it needed to remove
all GNOME and many other packages because of build-dep to the specific
version of libpt. Please, restore the sipnet.ru support. If you need
some information of this provider, I can not promise to get it but I
can try. Or you can try to make account and login to it yourselves?
