Sorry but strace is not a general-purpose debugging tool. Please avoid
sending such huge and unusable traces.

To debug such crashes when they are not reproducible (which is the case
here), we need a GDB backtrace: 
      * Run "gdb /usr/bin/python" 
      * At the gdb prompt, type "run /usr/bin/alacarte" 
      * When it crashes, type "thread apply all bt full" and send us the
        output of this command.
