Hi, I had the same error.

I ran from gnome -> system -> administration -> update manager
and it caused the error I atached.

I tried again from root terminal command line.
I did echo $PATH first and ir showed:
<code>
echo $PATH
/usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin
</code>

but when I ran update-manager just after the echo $PATH it showed the same
error telling that
none of the /sbin paths where in the path.
