Bug#556376: Workaround: grant users the ability to shut the machine down without a password

This can be worked around by creating
'/var/lib/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/allow-shutdown-multi.pkla'
with the following contents:
        
        [allow shutdown multi]
        Identity=unix-user:*
        Action=org.freedesktop.consolekit.system.stop-multiple-users
        ResultAny=no
        ResultInactive=no
        ResultActive=yes
