Bug#558313: [update-notifier] Starts package manager with wrong "PATH="

When selecting the start package manager menu item from the applet it
starts gksu and grants rights for synaptic. But when trying to install
packages from an instance of synaptic that is started this way it gives
the following errors. So it seems the path is not transferred to roots
path. 

Synaptic started from the menu item in gnome menu works normally.
