Bug#548742: nautilus: no thumbnail preview for jpg image files

I have image preview (thumbnails) switched on. However, all my jpg
files are completely ignored by nautilus, that is no thumbnail preview
appears.

If I rename one of the image files from .jpg to .jpeg, then the
preview image is generated.  So something is broken in file extension
handling for .jpg files.

The image files (both .jpg and .jpeg) are identified as "JPEG image
data" by the command line utility file.  

gnomevfs-info identifies .jpg files as "application/x-extension-jpg"
while the same file renamed as .jpeg is identified as "image/jpeg".
