Package: alacarte
Version: 0.13.1-1
Severity: important

Hi.

I want to use alacarte to edit menus using XFCE. The only buttons in the
program that seem to work are Help and Close.

Running it from a terminal, when rightclicking a menu item and clicking
Properties, I get this:

andreas at halucigenia:~$ alacarte
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/share/alacarte/Alacarte/MainWindow.py", line 383, in
on_edit_properties_activate
    process = subprocess.Popen(['gnome-desktop-item-edit', file_path],
env=os.environ)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", line 623, in __init__
    errread, errwrite)
  File "/usr/lib/python2.6/subprocess.py", line 1139, in _execute_child
    raise child_exception
OSError: [Errno 2] Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

Same for New Menu and New Entry. Is there some dependency missing? I thought
this program was a universal editor for the Freedesktop.org menu and could be
used with XFCE, too.

Regards

Andreas
