I am testing with 2.28.3-1 and am unable to reproduce this behaviour.

Since there was no response to this request, I am marking this report
unreproducible and closing.

Federico, if you can come up with a repeatable sequence of steps to
reproduce this in the latest version of ‘gedit’, feel free to reopen
this report.
