Bug#588159: update-manager reports a bug, then bug handling fails

Lately, every time I ask a "Check" of updates, the dialog opens up, the bar moves a little, then a popup says there was a bug and asks if I want to report it; if I click "yes", nothing changes (the bar keeps going left and right), but in the terminal I can see:
