I’m not sure I understand the implication of what the patch does. Does
it systematically convert the cdda:// URI into a file:// one,
automatically ripping the CD? Or does it rely on gvfs-fuse?

In both cases, it doesn’t sound like a bugfix to me, but like a
regression.
