Bug#590121: gnome-screensaver: screensaver daemon crashes on screensaver activation if xinerama is enabled

The gnome-screensaver daemon crashes when the screen saver tries to activate.
If I manually restart the daemon and hit the keyboard shortcut to lock the
screen, I see this:

$ gnome-screensaver --no-daemon
Xlib:  extension "RANDR" missing on display ":0.0".
The program 'gnome-screensaver' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 178 error_code 2 request_code 129 minor_code 15)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I have xinerama enabled in xorg.conf because I'm using multiple video cards
spanning a desktop.  If I disable xinerama, gnome-screensaver does not crash.
I am currently using xscreensaver instead of gnome-screensaver as a workaround.
