Bug#590988: gtk+2.0: Black spots and bars on canvas and gui items, most easily reproducible in iceweasel

First of all, I have no idea which package this bug might actually be
in. gtk is a possible culprit, and I can rule out certain others,
that's why I file this bug against gtk first.

Since a few days, I see black bars in iceweasel, mostly when I switch
focus with the mouse inside the application, but also when I move the
mouse (with sloppy focus) away from the window or back to it.

The effect is most pertinent in websites with a lot of active elements
(such as google reader) but also, for some reason, all debian bug
summary pages. But not only elements of the page, also gui items such
as scrollbars and buttons turn completely black.

I get the most black bars when I move the mouse quickly, except for
the debian bug pages, which all turn completely black immediately
after switching focus, and can only be "repaired" by marking all the
text with Ctrl-a.

I've seen this also in gimp (the "File" menu turned completely black
after I took a screenshot) and gnucash (the toolbar on top turned
black), but I could never reproduce it, while it's very easily
reproducible in iceweasel.

I think I've seen this once on my laptop as well, which runs a fairly
similar installation, but on different hardware.

(GDK_NATIVE_WINDOWS isn't relevant)

So far I've only tried downgrading xulrunner.

I'm currently using the fglrx driver, which was upgraded recently, so
another thing I'm going to try soon is if the effects persist with the
radeon driver.

I'll attach two screenshots of iceweasel (not sure if reportbug will
allow me to add an attachment now, but if not, I'll post them in a
followup mail).
