Help is welcome, of course. It’s in the pkg-gnome subversion repository,
in the desktop/experimental/gdm3 directory.
Note that you will also need the meta-gnome2 package from the
repository, it hasn’t been uploaded yet.
Once you have built them, the upgrade procedure is:
* update your metapackages
* dpkg --remove --force-depends gdm fast-user-switch-applet
* dpkg -i gdm3_2.28.1-1_amd64.deb
