This was already the case for gdm 2.20. I don’t know of a way to
deactivate this behavior.

If you need several sessions for testing purposes, using startx is
probably the way to go.

Interesting. In this case, the display opened by this action is not
killed, so this is “logical”.

I think I have found a way to fix that. I’ll try to cook a patch.
