Bug#582292: gnome-desktop-environment: Activating fuse, udev, udev-mtab, ufw in Gnome's Service Settings hardlocks the computer

Package: gnome-desktop-environment
Version: 1:2.28+7
Severity: normal
Tags: squeeze

Vanilla install of squeeze, kept up-to-date with aptitude update, aptitude
dist-upgrade. Latest update today. Installed Gnome d-e through aptitude install
gnome-desktop-environment.

For some reason I activated fuse, udev, udev-mtab, and ufw through Gnome's
Service Settings facility (System -> Administration -> Services). Logging out
immediately caused a hardlock of of computer at gdm. No functioning keyboard or
mouse. A reboot will only result in a hardlocked gdm again. Debian's kernel
2.6.32-4-686 with the nouveau driver or 2.6.32-3-686 with the nv driver give
the same sad result.

The immediate solution is to reboot in safety mode, log in as root, and remove
the 50fuse, 50udev, 50udev-mtab, and 50ufw items from /etc/rc2.d/ .

One bug is that this misconfiguration can be done in the Service Settings, i.e.
activating already running services (they are started in /etc/rcS.d/ per
default) with a lockup as a result.

Another bug is that the items (fuse, udev, etc. ) are not indicated as being
active when opening the Service Settings for the first time. The tick box is
un-ticked.
