This is expected. All icons from the default KDE installation have been
disabled by default, so that both KDE and GNOME can be installed
together without making GNOME unusable because of the missing OnlyShowIn
tags in the KDE desktop files.

This setting can be changed per-user by selecting the icons in the menu
editor, or system-wide by editing the gnome-menus configuration.
