Plans for packaging new upstream version (2.26.0) of pygobject

Hi there,

I don't know if this is the right place to ask, so forgive me if it's
not.

I'm interested in knowing if there's any timeline/date for packaging the
new upstream version (2.26.0) of pygobject[1] or ultimately, which is
its status (maybe Python 3 is required for this version to work and
hence is stopped?).
