Umm.. It appears not a complete fix. It seems to work randomly.

This morning, when I turned on my machine and logged in,
It appeared as a single column. (I'm using a vertical panel,
and my configuration is to have a 2x2 layout. It's better this time,
though. Before the fix, the applet appeared as a line of 2-pixel
high, thus almost invisible.)

Respawning doesn't help, unless I switch the panel orientation
to horizontal first.

I'll try more how to work it out.

Regards,
