If you switch from user1 to user2 and then log out of one of them,
you will have one logged-in session and a log-in screen. Now if you try to
switch users, you won't be taken to the already existing log-in screen,
which
I don't think it should be there, but, to a new one.
And it can continue like this. gdm3 will pile up log-in screens for you.
