Package: python-vte
Version: 1:0.24.3-2
Severity: important
You're breaking python-apt's gtk2 progress module with the removal
of the reaper API.
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apt/progress/gtk2.py", line 373, in __init__
self._progress_install = GInstallProgress(self._terminal)
File "/usr/lib/python2.6/dist-packages/apt/progress/gtk2.py", line 130, in __init__
reaper = vte.reaper_get()
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'reaper_get'
Please tell us how to fix this in python-apt. Best would be
to re-add the patch for the meantime, to not hinder the
python3 transition. Once the python3 transition is over,
removing the patch and adding
Breaks: python-apt (<< 0.8.0~exp2)
[ that's the version a fix would land in]
would be a good idea. This might still get it coupled with
the python-apt API transition, though.
