I just looked for this one for about 15 minutes before finding this bug
report (I was about to file the same one). I'm running Debian Squeeze
with gnome on my laptop, and I usually close my laptop lid to use my
external monitor (which I think is a very common use case!). Having no
option to even turn off the screen saver (which apply to the main screen
too) is a really stupid GUI design choice (actually, closing the laptop
lid should *not* even cause the screensaver to run when an external
monitor is plugged).

So am I sending this email hoping it will bring the maintainer's
attention on this issue and get this reported to upstream so they can be
brought back to sanity.

Some version info about my system. Notice that the gnome-power-manager
package is now at 2.32.0 and the problem is still not fixed.

ii gnome-power-manager 2.32.0-2
ii gnome-control-center 1:2.30.1-2
ii gnome-core 1:2.30+7

Thank you,

Mathieu
